A 25-year-old man drowned near Kasba Bengre Ferry Point on Sunday.
The police identified the victim as Mohammed Sanaullah.
According to the police, Sanaullah entered the water to retrieve a football for children playing by the riverside. On seeing him struggle, the children alerted local fishermen, who pulled him out and rushed him to a hospital in Falnir, where he died.
