YSRC leader demands accountability from Naidu for attack on Ambati’s house by TDP cadre

East Godavari District YSR Congress Party president Chelluboyina Venu Gopala Krishna on Tuesday demanded Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to own moral responsibility for the alleged attack on former Water Resources Minister Ambati Rambabu house by TDP cadre in Guntur district on February 1.

Mr. Ambati’s house was attacked and he was later arrested on the same day after he allegedly used abusive language against Mr. Naidu over the Tirumala laddu row.

Mr. Venu Gopala Krishna along with former Kapu reservation movement leader Mudragada Padmanabha Reddy and YSRCP State Youth Wing president Jakkampudi Raja met Mr. Ambati during the ‘mulaqat’ at the Rajamahendravaram Central Prison on Tuesday and inquired about his health.

After the ‘mulaqat’ Mr. Venu Gopala Krishna said that Mr. Ambati who is the victim is being treated as an accused by the State. He has been arrested while the attackers roam freely. He also alleged that the police continue to remain mute spectators to the attacks on YSRCP leaders.

Mr. Padmanabha Reddy highlighted that a new culture of setting fire to homes of former Ministers has emerged in Andhra Pradesh. It should not be encouraged.
