YSRCP vows legal return gift to TDP over alleged attacks

YSR Congress Party State coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Monday warned that the alleged attacks by the Telugu Desam Party were being closely noted and that a time would come when the TDP would be made to pay for its actions, strictly under the law, once the YSRCP returns to power.

Addressing the media along with former Minister Jogi Ramesh, whose house was allegedly set on fire, and other leaders at the former Minister’s camp office near Ibrahimpatnam, Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy said the YSRCP would settle scores legally and that it would be a return gift to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, under whose command the attacks were allegedly being carried out as part of the TDP’s vindictive politics.

He alleged that the State was witnessing a dictatorial regime, evident from TDP activists resorting to physical attacks instead of allowing the government to proceed as per law, if YSRCP leaders had indeed committed any wrongdoing, whether in the Tirupati Laddu adulteration case or any other matter.

Mr. Ramakrishna Reddy accused the police of acting at the behest of the ruling party, claiming that cases were being registered against victims instead of the miscreants who were unleashing a reign of terror. He said the police failed to restrain TDP activists as violence broke out in Guntur and Ibrahimpatnam.

He further alleged that the recent attacks were aimed at diverting public attention from the Tirupati Laddu controversy. The YSRCP would take up the issue at the national level by lodging complaints with the Union Home Secretary and the National Human Rights Commission over the alleged collapse of law and order in the State, he said.

Former Ministers Velampalli Srinivas, Karumuri Nageswara Rao, Ch. Venugopala Krishna, Merugu Nagarjuna and Pinipe Viswaroop were among those present.
