Stalin inaugurates integrated agriculture extension centre at Nanguneri, veterinary pharmacy at Vasudevanallur

Chief Minister M. K. Stalin inaugurated through videoconferencing the integrated agriculture extension centre built at a cost of ₹2.75 crore at Nanguneri on Friday.

The new facility houses agriculture, horticulture, seed certification, agro business and agro engineering departments and hence the farmers of this region can avail all services being extended by these departments under one roof. Moreover, they can also buy seeds and fertilizers from the depots here and undergo training being organised by these departments on new agricultural, horticultural and floricultural techniques.

After the Chief Minister inaugurated the Centre, District Collector R. Sukumar lighted the traditional lamp and distributed vegetable seeds under the Nutrition Farming Mission.

“Farmers and public can buy seeds of vegetables, greens, fruits, crops and tree saplings under the Nutrition Farming Mission from this Centre. While the farmers can use these seeds in their fields, the public can raise these fruits and vegetables either in their backyard or on their terrace to address the nutrition deficiency in their families,” Dr. Sukumar said.

Joint Director of Agriculture Venkatesan was present.

In Tenkasi, Mr. Stalin inaugurated the veterinary pharmacy built at a cost of ₹1.18 crore at Vasudevanallur, agriculture regulatory market built at a cost of ₹5.17 crore at Alangulam, godowns at Sankarnkovil (₹5.50 crore) and Paavoorchathram (₹2.90 crore) and agriculture extension centre at Achchanpudhur at a cost of ₹50 lakh.

District Collector A. K. Kamal Kishore and Vasudevanallur MLA T. Sadan Thirumalaikumar visited the veterinary pharmacy at Vasudevanallur.
