Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday inaugurated her camp office, Mukhyamantri Jan Seva Sadan, at 2/8 Raj Niwas Marg, Civil Lines, adjacent to the residence that has been allotted to her.

Speaking at the inauguration, Ms. Gupta said the Jan Seva Sadan has been established by the government with the objective of having direct communication with the people, institutionalising public hearings and ensuring timely redressal of grievances. “Our aim is to ensure that no resident of Delhi has to run from pillar to post with their problems; instead, they can come directly to this centre and receive a timely resolution,” Ms. Gupta said, adding that a system will be implemented at the camp office where the public’s issues will be promptly resolved in the presence of senior officials.

Since taking over as the CM, Ms. Gupta has been holding jan sunwais (public hearings) in the morning at her residence in Shalimar Bagh.

She said that in the past, there was a “communication gap” between the government and the public and she wished to assure the people that their voice would reach the government directly.
