Nungambakkam Police arrested one more drug peddler for supplying cocaine to actors Srikanth, Krishna and others.
Police investigation began after two groups clashed at a bar in Nungambakkam in May. Eight persons including Prasad (who was AIADMK functionary) were arrested. Police unearthed the links between Prasad and a drug cartel comprising Prado alias Pradeep and his associates including John, a Ghana national who was operating from Bengaluru. Police said he obtained cocaine from them for the last three years and sold it to his friends including actor Srikanth in the close circle. Prasad and Srikanth were arrested by Nungambakkam Police on June 23 in the cocaine case.
Following this, actor Krishna and Jaswir alias Kevin, a supplier of drugs was arrested on June 26. In pursuance of investigation, Nungambakkam Police on Friday arrested Fayaz Ahamed, 32 of Royappettah who allegedly supplied the drugs to the accused who were arrested earlier. He was remanded to judicial custody.
Police said more than 25 persons have been arrested by Nungambakkam police in the cocaine case.
