Singer-musician Sid Sriram burst into the Tamil film music scene with AR Rahman’s ‘Adiye’ (Kadal) in 2013. Since then, he has sung multiple superhit tracks in various languages, for popular composers including Anirudh, Ilaiyaraaja, Devi Sri Prasad and others.

This singer, who can straddle both Carnatic and film worlds, is currently among the most sought-after voices in South Indian films.

In a special exclusive video interview with ‘The Hindu’, Sid – wearing a t-shirt and jeans – chats about his association with AR Rahman, Ilaiyaraaja and the role of English and film music in his life. He also chats about recording the popular Tamil song ‘Nee Singam Dan’, which happens to be cricketer Virat Kohli’s favourite song and the track commonly associated with MS Dhoni’s entry into Chepauk.
