Andhra Pradesh Congress Professionals’ State head and core committee member of Amaravati Congress Valluru Bhargav on Sunday urged the State government to complete the capital development project in a time-bound plan. In a statement, Mr. Bhargav said Amaravati stands as a symbol of Andhra Pradesh people’s aspirations.
Continued neglect of the project would be tantamount to not just failure on the development front, but also betrayal of public trust. The Congress leader said the rights and compensation promised to the farmers must be honoured fully and without delay. “Their sacrifices laid the foundation for Amaravati, and justice to them is non-negotiable,” he said.
The Congress party would also call for an all-party consultation and creation of a transparent, State-level monitoring committee to oversee Amaravati’s development, ensuring accountability and integrity. He said both the State and Central governments must be held responsible for the delays. “It is time to rise above politics and restore Amaravati as a capital that reflects vision, unity, and the spirit of Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
