District Collector S. Kandasamy has said that special camps under the Ungaludan Stalin scheme will be launched in Erode district on Tuesday (July 15, 2025).

Addressing media persons at the Collectorate on Monday, the Collector said that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will inaugurate the scheme, following which Minister for Housing, Prohibition and Excise, S. Muthusamy will formally launch a camp in the district.

In Erode district, a total of 340 special camps will be conducted, including 40 in the Corporation, 41 in Municipalities, 84 in town panchayats, and 175 in village panchayats. The camps are scheduled between July and October 2025, he said.

In the first phase, 114 camps will be held between July 15 and August 14, 2025. More than 20 supervisory officers at the Deputy Collector level have been appointed for monitoring, along with 64 departmental officers and 114 supervisors, the Collector added.

To specifically address the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme, four dedicated counters will be set up and manned by 456 trained volunteers. Details of camp locations have been uploaded on the official Erode district website: www.erode.nic.in. The camps will function daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Applicants seeking to get benefits under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme must bring their Aadhaar card, bank passbook (original or copy), and the mobile number linked to their Aadhaar. Revenue officers and trained volunteers will assist at the camps. Those unable to apply at one camp may visit the nearest upcoming camp, he said.
