TDP Polit Bureau member and MLA Nakka Ananda Babu has accused YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of acting like a “destructive force,” obstructing Andhra Pradesh’s development.

Addressing the media at the party’s central office in Mangalagiri on Wednesday (July 16, 2025), Mr. Ananda Babu said Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy failed to perform the duties of an opposition leader after winning 11 seats in the elections.

Referring to Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s press conference earlier in the day, the TDP leader alleged that “Mr. Jagan governed the State in an authoritarian manner for five years, registering false cases against thousands and empowering the police system to achieve his personal vendetta against the opposition leaders.”

Alleging that previous YSRCP government had committed atrocities against the BCs and SCs, Mr. Ananda Babu said, “You had treated BCs like slaves and SCs as untouchables. What right do you have now to speak for their welfare?” He further accused Mr. Jagan of suppressing democratic institutions, citing incidents such as putting TDP national president (now Chef Minister) N. Chandrababu Naidu under house arrest during protests.

On Mr. Jagan’s frequent public visits under the pretext of “consoling the death of party workers,” Mr. Ananda Babu said they were nothing but political drama intended to provoke unrest.

Mr. Ananda Babu also criticised the obstruction of the ‘Vivekam’ movie, asking why a political leader who quoted violent movie dialogues in public now fears cinematic depictions.

He said the YSRCP government drove away major investors such as Amara Raja, LuLu, and others, affecting the State’s industrial growth. “Mr. Jagan speaks of loans, but he borrowed heavily in the Governor’s name,” he alleged. Mr. Ananda Babu said the people were watching everything and would not tolerate the YRSCP chief’s remarks anymore.
