In a shocking incident, a 36-year-old woman was brutally murdered by two masked men who barged into her house in Sayalkudi in Ramanathapuram district on Thursday night.
Police said that Vijayagopal of Vettukadu village, Naripayur, near Sayalkudi in Ramanathapuram district was married to Jermin, 36. The couple have two children aged 14 and 10. Vijayagopal worked in the Central force and was posted in Uttarakhand.
It is said that some differences of opinion about five years ago had forced the woman to live separately with her children. On Thursday night, two men, covering their faces barged into the house of Jermin and assaulted her with deadly weapons and she died in a pool of blood.
Shocked to see their mother dead, the two children raised an alarm. Some neighbours rushed and alerted the police. The body was taken to Kadaladi Government Hospital.
On Friday, relatives of Jermin submitted a petition to the SP praying to secure the two killers. Police said that they would inquire all the suspects including the husband of the deceased woman.
