Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has written to IndiGo airlines to consider commencing direct flights from Mysuru to Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Goa.

In a letter to IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, Mr. Wadiyar said Mysuru is an important cultural, tourism and educational hub of Karnataka, and attracts a large number of domestic and international travellers.

“There is a growing demand for better air connectivity from Mysuru to these major cities for the benefit of tourists, business travellers, students and local residents. Improved air services will also support the economic growth of the region,” Mr. Wadiyar said.

The MP urged Indigo to explore the possibility of operating flights on these routes at the earliest.

“The services will go a long way in improving regional connectivity and meeting public demand,” Mr. Wadiyar added.
