AU awarded for innovations in GIS

Andhra University was awarded the “Best University Jury Award” at the second edition of National Geospatial Awards-2025 by FOSSEE GIS under the National Mission on Education through ICT, Union Ministry of Education. The university was recognised for its contributions to the geospatial domain, particularly for its innovation in Geographic Information System (GIS) education, research, and community outreach, said Prof. Vazeer Mahammood, former head of the Department of Geo-Engineering and Centre for Remote Sensing and GIS.
