Amid continuous attack by the Opposition on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Haryana over the law and order situation, former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Wednesday (July 23, 2025) alleged that the situation had deteriorated after Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini took over as the State’s Home Minister.
He made the comments while interacting with the journalists in Gurugram after handing over a memorandum to Police Commissioner in connection with the firing on the vehicle of party leader and Haryanvi rapper Rahul Fazilpuriya recently.
Mr. Chautala said that Mr. Saini seemed to have “no control over the police” and the law-and-order situation had deteriorated after he took over as the Home Minister. He added that the situation was slightly better before he took over the reins of the State and the Home Department.
Mr. Chautala said he spoke to the Police Commissioner last month seeking reinstatement of security to Mr. Fazilpuriya after two security guards provided to him were withdrawn, but no action was taken leading to the firing incident.
Such incidents were constantly happening in the State and the head of his party’s business cell, Ravindra, was shot dead in full public view in Hansi recently, said Mr. Chautala. “Ravindra was constantly receiving threats and the accused was granted bail even after the matter was brought to the knowledge of the police. The victim’s family also met the Chief Minister and pleaded for justice, but no action has been taken so far,” said Mr. Chautala.
