DLSA organises seminar on anti-trafficking awareness in Mangalagiri

Marking World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, the Guntur District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), in collaboration with Good Shepherd NGO, conducted a legal awareness seminar at the MPDO office in Mangalagiri on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, DLSA Secretary Syed Ziauddin highlighted that human trafficking remains a grave crime impacting lakhs every year, with women and children being the most vulnerable. Citing UN reports, he said that India records an average of 2,246 trafficking cases annually, with around 1,514 involving minors.

He stressed the need for collective action and underscored the pivotal role of legal services in curbing trafficking. The seminar saw participation from multiple NGOs, stakeholders, and community members, including women and children.
