The SIT officials said they have not found a skull in the sixth site, but only partial remains of a skeleton.

Forensic scientists and the scene-of-crime officers seized the body parts after noting down the details, including the location and the way the body parts were found.

Assistant Commissioner, Puttur sub-division, Stella Verghese, was present at the spot.

The complainant is a former sanitation worker. He gave statement to the SIT about burial of over 100 bodies. On July 28, the SIT took the complainant to the bathing ghat in Dharmastala where he listed 13 alleged burial sites.

The process of digging up the sites started on July 29. The SIT found the debit card of a woman and the PAN card of a man at the first site. The team initiated the process to trace the two persons.

A total of five sites were dug up, but no body part was found.

On July 31, the team began digging up the sixth site, which is in a forest.
