K.M. Sabu Mathew is Idukki District Police Chief

K.M. Sabu Mathew assumed charge as the new District Police Chief of Idukki on Thursday.

Mr. Mathew, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, had served as Thodupuzha sub-inspector, Circle Inspector in Kaliyar and Adimaly police stations, Thodupuzha Deputy Superintendent of Police, and Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch). He has been serving as the District Police Chief (Kollam rural) from 2023.

After assuming charge, Mr. Mathew said that priority would be given to prevent the drug menace in the district. Attacks on women and children were a serious matter, and immediate action would be taken.
