The body of a 34-year-old businessman was recovered from Durgam Cheruvu in Madhapur on Friday, a day after he was reported missing. The deceased was identified as Chandresh Jain, a resident of Trimulgherry in Secunderabad.
According to the police, a missing person complaint had been filed at the Alwal police station on Thursday after Jain failed to return home.
Preliminary investigation suggested that Jain ended his life due to financial distress compounded by the recent death of his father. His body was discovered floating in the lake and was subsequently retrieved by emergency services.
The body was sent to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. A case has been registered by the Madhapur police and investigation is under way.
