Due to a high chance of heavy rains in the Nilgiris on Tuesday, the district administration has announced leave for all schools in the district.
In a press release, the district administration said that the Indian Meteorological Department had forecast heavy rains in the Nilgiris, which could potentially lead to landslips, tree-falls and other potential dangerous situations for the public.
The district administration also stated that apart from schools, all tourist locations would also remain closed on Tuesday to ensure the safety of tourists. The Nilgiris district administration has said that people can contact dedicated helpline at 1077 to seek assistance.
