Private college lecturer ends life over dowry harassment

A lecturer of a private college died by suicide allegedly over dowry harassment at Vuyyuru in Krishna district on Monday (August 4, 2025). The Vuyyuru police registered a case, said Gannavaram DSP Ch. Srinivas Rao.

The deceased identified as V. Sri Vidya (22) got married to Arun Kumar, working as Surveyor in the Ward Secretariat, five months ago. The woman in a purportedly suicide note alleged that her husband hit her in an inebriated state. “I may not be there till Rakhi Festival. Please take care of my parents,” she reportedly said in the note addressed to her brother.
