Gang stabs private firm employee to death for refusing to pay money

A gang of four armed men stabbed a youth to death and assaulted two others when they refused to pay them money in Byadarahalli on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Prem, working at a service centre. The police said that he was returning home with two of his friends after work. The accused, identified as Vishal and his friend Naveen, rowdy sheeters in Rajagopalnagar police station, along with Hemanth and Puneeth, allegedly got drunk and went around the area to extort money from people returning home .

The accused allegedly confronted Prem and two of his friends and demanded money. The accused allegedly stabbed Prem with a dagger when he refused to pay and escaped, said the police.

Prem was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries owing to excessive blood loss.

The Byadarahalli police have registered a case of murder and efforts are on to track them down.

The residents demanded action against the rowdy elements who are harassing private firm employees and extorting money.
