A father-son duo — L. Mahipal Reddy, an ex-serviceman and his son Vivekananda Reddy of Centenary Colony in Peddapalli district, successfully climbed the 5,642-metre-tall Mt. Elbrus — Europe’s highest mountain on August 3.
The duo, who just returned home after achieving the remarkable feat, was felicitated by Peddapalli Collector Koya Sree Harsha at the Collectorate in Peddapalli town on Tuesday, official sources said.
The Collector lauded the father-son duo for successfully scaling Mt. Elbrus and unveiling the banner ‘Say No To Drugs’ atop the highest European peak.
He appreciated Mr. Mahipal Reddy, a renowned mountaineer, for encouraging his son to undergo training in mountaineering and successfully scale Mt. Elbrus.
