Two youths were arrested for the assault and murder of an unidentified person near Vyasarpadi Jeeva railway station on Tuesday.
A senior official of the City Police said an unidentified person of around 50 years was found with serious injuries near the Vyasarpadi Jeeva railway station on July 31.
Based on an alert from the residents, the injured person was rescued by the police and admitted to the Government Stanley Hospital. However, he did not respond to treatment, and died on Tuesday.
The police registered a murder case and arrested two youths in the locality. The arrested were identified as Asif alias Karthik, 23, and Alex, 27. During investigation, Karthick said that his sister had told him that a man had tried to harass her, due to which he along with his friend attacked him.
The police are yet to identity the victim.
