The classes for the new batch of students enrolled for the bachelor’s degree programme at the Karnataka campus of Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in Shivamogga began on Thursday, August 7.

RRU, an institute of national importance, which runs under the Ministry of Home Affairs, offers courses in Security Management and Defence & Strategic Studies. As of now, the campus functions in Ragi Gudda in the city. The new campus is expected to come up at Thammadihalli in Shivamogga taluk.

Shivamogga Superintendent of Police G.K. Mithun Kumar, who took part as chief guest for the inauguration of the new batch, emphasised the significance of academic pursuit in the fields of national security, policing, and governance. He highlighted the role of RRU in shaping future leaders who would contribute effectively to internal security, law enforcement, social media governance, and public safety.

Kaveri Tandon, Campus Director, highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering innovation, integrity, and service in the domains of internal security, policing, defence, and strategic studies.
