MP urges Centre to issue gazette notification on S Co R

Visakhapatnam MP Matukumilli Sribharat has urged the Centre to issue a gazette notification for the operationalisation of South Coast Railway(S Co R) Zone in Visakhapatnam. The MP met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Thursday and sought early issue of the notification so that the zone office can be fully functional by Vijayadasami (October 2, 2025).

Mr. Sribharat informed him of the importance of launching a daily express train to Tirupati in view of the tremendous demand from pilgrims going to Tirupati. He also sought the introduction of an overnight Vande Bharat Sleeper train to Bengaluru for the benefit of employees and students, and also an overnight express train to Hyderabad via Vijayawada and Guntur.
