In a gory incident reported from Koratagere, Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwaraâs constituency, residents of Kolala village made a shocking discovery on Thursday morning. They found parts of a human body stuffed in plastic covers and strewn along the road near the villageâs temple.
This created panic in the village. Police rushed to the spot and recovered four plastic covers containing chopped parts of a human body and sent them for autopsy to the district hospital.
The recovered body parts did not include the head of the victim. âIt is not yet clear whether the body parts recovered belong to a male or a female. But going by the pattern of a tattoo on the hand, among the recovered parts, we suspect that it could be a female,â a senior police officer said.
The police suspect that the victim was killed and the body was chopped into multiple pieces and some covers fell off on the road, while it was being disposed of. The police have also launched a search operation in the area to see if the remaining parts of the body were disposed of there.
Senior police officials, including Tumakuru District Superintendent of Police Ashok K.V., visited the village and supervised the probe.
The police have formed a special team after registering a case of murder and verifying footage from CCTV cameras in and around the area and cross verifying details of missing persons from Tumakuru district and surrounding areas.
