Swachh Andhra Corporation Chairman K. Pattabhi Ram on Sunday reiterated that the corporation remained committed to introducing biodegradable alternatives and banning plastic use in all major temples across the State.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Pattabhi, who had offered prayers at the Kanipakam Vinayaka temple here along with his family, said that he had prayed for the welfare and happiness of the State’s people, and the success of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s development programmes. He said that the people of Andhra Pradesh had complete trust in Naidu’s leadership, which alone could fulfil the poll promises, despite financial crunches.

He said that the ‘Swarnandhra Swachhata’ cleanliness drive would be a regular feature once a week all over the State. He appealed to the management of all temples to promote a ban on plastic use and adopt eco-friendly measures immediately.
