UN International Youth Day celebrated at Andhra University

The UN International Youth Day was celebrated at Andhra University here, as part of its centenary celebrations. The university’s School of Economics, in association with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, hosted an interfaith dialogue to mark the day with the theme “Localising SDGs: Socio-economic advancement of Millennials, GenZ, and GenAlpha in the future world of work”.

B. Lilly Grace Eunice, head of School of Economics and Centre for Agro-Economic Research, spoke on the theme. Short documentaries on ‘Yes We Can Youth’ (YWC) and ‘UN Youth’ were screened. Stephen Anurag Prathipati, founder of Yes We Can Youth organisation and NISG project officer for Meghalaya government, provided the event context.

Presidential address was delivered by G. P. Raja Sekhar, AU Vice-Chancellor, while keynote address was delivered by Darrin Farrant, director of United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) for India and Bhutan. Interfaith panel session was held by the speakers.
