Holiday declared for schools – The Hindu

All government, Zilla Parishad, aided and private schools in Medchal-Malkajgiri district will remain closed on Thursday in view of the heavy rain forecast.

District Collector M. Manu Chowdary, after a review with officials on Wednesday, directed the District Educational Office with the orders.

A few private schools in Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts have voluntarily declared Thursday a holiday.

Earlier, on Tuesday, an official order by the School Education Department announced half day for schools in the GHMC limits on August 13 (Wednesday) and 14 (Thursday).

Meanwhile, late on Wednesday night, the School Education Department, noting the heavy rainfall forecast, declared Thursday a holiday for all schools in the districts of Sangareddy, Medak and Vikarabad.
