Scattered rains across Hyderabad on Wednesday brought traffic to a crawl in several areas with the Cyberabad commissionerate bearing the brunt of congestion and waterlogging. The showers, which were particularly heavy in Madhapur and the adjoining IT corridor, left key junctions choked as vehicles struggled to move through inundated stretches.
In Cyberabad, waterlogging was reported at multiple points, including the NH-44 service road near Satamrai, Wipro Junction, Nanakramguda rotary, Mahaveer Gateway, Barfigur Sweet House in Sriramnagar, BHEL towards Gangaram and Gulmohar Park Colony from HCU.
Traffic movement was also slow near Allwyn junction, Indiranagar flyover towards IIIT junction, the Anjaiahnagar U-turn, Khajaguda junction towards Dargah, Suchitra junction, Moosapet Junction from Bharatnagar, and the Raidurg metro station from the IKEA U-turn towards Cyber Towers.
High traffic volume compounded the situation, with congestion reported at Allwyn T junction from Kondapur, Allwyn Junction from Miyapur, Meenakshi junction from all sides, the Allwyn T junction from the RTA office in Kondapur, Aramghar junction from Durganagar, Gaganpahad to Budvel on both sides and Muchintal towards Ghansimiyaguda.
Elsewhere in Hyderabad, heavy traffic and waterlogging at Ayodhya junction slowed movement from Masab Tank, Mahaveer Hospital, and surrounding areas. Peak-hour pressure, wet roads and stalled vehicles left commuters stranded for extended periods.
