The Vidhana Soudha police on Wednesday registered another FIR against an unknown person who, posing as the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta, called Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials threatening them with complaints.
Based on the complaint filed by Pradeep Kumar P.M., Deputy Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta, the police have registered an FIR charging the unknown impersonator under section 204 (impersonating a public servant) under BNS for further investigation.
The accused, posing as Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Superintenent of Police, called the Chief Engineer, BBMP, Yelahanka zone last week asking him to come and meet him the next day. The accused had even called Executive engineer, BBMP, the same day advising him not to go to office as there is a complaint against him.
The Chief Engineer visited the Lokayukta office and met the Deputy Superintendent of Police and came to known that some one was misusing the name of the Lokayukta official, calling the government officials for personal gain.
The Lokayukta officials tried to contact the number and found that the contact appears as Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police on Truecaller .
This is the third such case registered recently.
