The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has issued show-cause notice to the management of the Oakridge International School at Khajaguda, for using public roads for parking school vehicles.

The notices were issued in the name of the deputy commissioner of Serilingampally circle, citing severe inconvenience to the commuters due to traffic congestion. A statement from the civic body said close to 500 metres of traffic jam was caused by the school buses on the Khajaguda road.

This amounts to violation as per the GHMC Act, 1955, and TG-bPASS Act, 2020, which prohibit blocking of public roads and property, the statement said. This violation would entail penal action by way of fines and legal measures.

The school management has been given three days for furnishing a written explanation, failure of which will attract legal action. Further, orders have been issued for removal of the vehicles, and to refrain from using public roads for parking.
