Hoisting of the tricolour flags, cultural programmes depicting Indian tradition and culture and contingent parades marked the 79th Independence Day celebrations on Friday.The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal across Andhra Pradesh on Friday, with flag hoisting, cultural programmes, and parades marking the occasion.
At the Andhra Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) office in Amaravati, Executive Chairman Justice Ravi Nath Tilhari unfurled the tricolour. APSLSA Member Secretary B.S.V. Himabindu, A.P. High Court Legal Services Committee Secretary G. Malathi, Deputy Secretary H. Amararangeswara Rao, and other officers participated in the celebrations. At the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Mangalagiri, Executive Director Ahanthem Santa Singh hoisted the national flag. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Santa Singh lauded the dedication of doctors, faculty, administrative staff, and students in upholding quality healthcare and medical education. On the occasion, faculty members, administrative staff, housekeeping and security personnel, and students were felicitated for their exemplary performance and contributions to the institute’s growth. Independence Day was also observed with fervour across government departments, schools, colleges, and other institutions in the State, with cultural programmes highlighting India’s rich heritage and values.
