Enforcement Directorate conducts searches in T.N. Minister Periasami’s residence in Dindigul

In a simultaneous operation, the officers from the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) conducted searches in the houses of Tamil Nadu Rural Development Minister I. Periasami, his MLA son I.P. Senthil Kumar and daughter Indra in Dindigul on Saturday (August 16, 2025).

According to reliable information, about a dozen officials came in three different teams at around 7.30 a.m. The three residential premises, located in Durairaj Nagar, Vallalar Nagar and at Seelapadi in the district were being guarded by armed CRPF personnel.

As the news spread, local DMK cadres and functionaries assembled near the houses. The police have also deployed adequate security in the areas. The Minister and his family, who came under the scanner of the Central agencies in the past on charges of money laundering, disproportionate assets/income earned and among other allegations. The family has gone on an appeal against a case, which comes up for hearing in the Supreme Court on August 18.

The Minister’s son, who is an MLA, is also the party Dindigul East district secretary.
