Over 5,000 students have registered for the State’s ‘Study Abroad’ scheme, launched by the Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation (KVTSDC). The initiative aims to make overseas education accessible to all, especially students from economically weaker backgrounds.
A Study Abroad expo will be held on Sunday at Hotel Lalit Ashok in Bengaluru, where students can still enroll. Over 60 international universities are participating, offering diverse academic opportunities.
To ease financial concerns, banks, including Karnataka Bank, are offering student-friendly education loans. The government ensures continued support even after students move abroad, including welfare, legal aid, and academic monitoring. The program is fully transparent, with free guidance and no agency fees.
“This first-of-its-kind initiative in India ensures global education is no longer limited to the privileged,” said Minister for Medical Education, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood Sharanaprakash Patil.
