Malsur handing over a memento to The Hindu senior special news photographer Nagara Gopal who won awards for Best News Picture and Rajiv Yuva Shakti categories at the State Level Photo Competitions – 2025, on World Photography Day, in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

The Hindu Telangana’s senior special news photographer, Nagara Gopal, won awards in two categories — Best News Picture and Rajiv Yuva Viksam — at the State Level Photo Competitions 2025, organised by the Information and Public Relations Department, Telangana, on the 186th World Photography Day.
As many as 45 awards were presented to other news photographers at an event held at a hotel in Begumpet here on Tuesday, where Revenue and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy was the chief guest. Earlier, the Minister also inaugurated a photo exhibition at the venue.
Gopal received the mementos along with a cash prize from Special Commissioner, I&PR Department, Ch. Priyanka, and Chief PRO to the Chief Minister, G. Malsur, on the occasion. Press Academy chairman K. Sreenivas Reddy and Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao were present.
Meanwhile, Gopal also won a ‘Special Achievement Award’ for his photo on ‘Future City’ at the 186th World Photography Day contest, organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Creativity and Culture Commission in collaboration with the India International Photographic Council and the Photography Academy of India.
