TTD Chairman slams legal notice on Sakshi daily and TV channel

Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) B.R. Naidu has served a legal notice on Sakshi Telugu daily and TV channel for allegedly publishing and broadcasting defamatory content against him.

Demanding an unconditional apology from the media organisation, Mr. Naidu also sought from it ₹10 crore to the TTD “as compensation for hurting the sentiments of the devotees.”

In a statement issued by the TTDs Chief PRO’s office on Wednesday, it was stated that Mr. Naidu had expressed deep anguish over the biased and malicious reports, which he felt had not only undermined his reputation but also offended the vast sentiments of the devotees.

The release also said that Mr. Naidu warned of lodging a complaint with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to halt the TV channel’s broadcasting, invoking the provisions in the Act, if the media outlet authorities failed to tender an apology.
