Five members of a family were found dead at their residence in Mahaboobpet Maqta, Miyapur, on Thursday (August 21, 2025) morning.
The deceased have been identified as 60-year-old Narasimha, his 55-year-old wife Venkatamma, their 24-year-old daughter Kavitha, 32-year-old son-in-law Anil, and their two-year-old granddaughter Appu.
“Neighbours said the family had been under stress due to mounting debts. However, further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause and circumstances,” said Miyapur assistant commissioner of police Srinivas Kumar.
The incident came to light after neighbours alerted the police through Dial 100. A team from Miyapur police station rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies for postmortem examination. A case was booked and further investigation is underway.
