The first Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas, recognising the contributions of migrants from Rajasthan to other States and countries, will be observed along with the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ partnership conclave here on December 10. The investor roadshows will also be organised at key domestic and international locations ahead of the conclave.

The State government is organising the two-day conclave as a follow-up event of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit held last year. It will serve as a platform to promote strategic industrial alliances and partnerships across various sectors, besides strengthening the State’s partnerships with key international and multilateral organisations.

Official sources said here on Friday that the celebration of Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas would provide an opportunity to Non-Resident Rajasthanis (NRRs) to come back to their roots and invest for the overall growth and development of the State. The speakers on the occasion will include Rajasthani settlers in States such as Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Kerala.

Honouring the fame earned by the Rajasthani diaspora in different parts of the world and to celebrate their contribution in Rajasthan’s growth, the State government will give away the Pravasi Rajasthani Samman Awards to key participants. The awards will also be given to NRRs for their achievements in the fields of business, science, art, industry, philanthropy, social service, and music.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma had earlier announced the observance of Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas to enable the NRR community to find its shared identity. The State government has adopted an NRR policy this year to ensure a sustained engagement with the Rajasthani diaspora and create a supportive environment for them.

The Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, held in December 2024, facilitated the signing of memorandums of understanding worth ₹35 lakh crores. MoUs worth ₹4.25 lakh crore have commenced groundbreaking in eight months after the summit.
