
A total of 60 organic farmers from various dedicated clusters of Puducherry region participated in an awareness meeting organised by Indian Overseas Bank, Puducherry Regional Office in coordination with Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare at Farmer’s training centre in Thattanchavady.

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), Puducherry Regional Office coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare to conduct an awareness meeting on the bank’s agriculture schemes for organic farmers at Farmer’s training centre in Thattanchavady.
During the programme, led by Ravi Shankar Sahoo, IOB Chief Regional Manager, S. Sezhian Babu, Deputy Director of Agriculture explained to the participants, the objectives of the meeting, which included facilitating an interface and raising awareness of various schemes being implemented, specifically for organic farmers.
S. Mangaleswari, senior IOB official, detailed the features of IOB Harit Kranti scheme aimed at improving productivity in organic farming and supporting farmers adopting organic cultivation practices while P. Senthilvel from RichPlus Bio Fertilizers and Feeds explained the support system provided to farmers in tie up with Amul Organic fertilizers.
Kumaravel, Deputy Director and nodal officer for organic farming also spoke.
