The 10th edition of Vizag Navy Marathon 2025 (VNM-25) will be organised on December 14 as part of the Navy Day celebrations, the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) said on Saturday.

Registration for the event will begin through the website www.vizagnavymarathon.run on September 1.

The event will be held at RK Beach to showcase the spirit of fitness, camaraderie and community participation, Commodore Anirudha Roy, Commanding Officer, INS Kalinga & Race Director, told the media.

Commodore Roy underlined that the Vizag Navy Marathon has grown from 4,000 participants in 2014 to 14,000 in 2024. This year, more participation is expected.

To encourage wider participation, special discounts have been introduced, including bulk registrations, corporate group discounts, and early-bird offers for those who register at the earliest, he said.

The event will feature multiple race categories—42.195 km full marathon, 21.097 km half marathon, 10 km run, and 5 km fun run.

All competitive race categories – Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10 km Run— will start from RK Beach. The routes have been designed to provide the participants with a scenic experience along the city’s coastline while ensuring safety and ease of movement through well-coordinated arrangements with the civil authorities.

In the run-up to the event, a series of promo runs and conditioning and strength training programmes are being organised at RK Beach every second Sunday.

The VNM-25 will have facilities such as runner’s kit (goodie bag, free T-shirt, refreshments), on-route hydration, medical aid and post-race refreshments and entertainment. Additionally, all participants will receive participation certificates.

GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, accompanied the Naval officer and representatives of State Bank of India (SBI), the title sponsor for this edition of the marathon, during the media conference.

Mr. Garg said that the Vizag Navy Marathon is more than just a sporting event. “It is a celebration of collective commitment to health and well-being in the city,” he said.
