Jagan tells INDIA bloc’s V-P candidate Sudershan Reddy he already threw his weight behind NDA nominee

Supreme Court retired judge and INDIA bloc’s Vice-Presidential candidate Justice B. Sudershan Reddy spoke to YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over phone on Sunday (August 31, 2025) and sought his support for election to the coveted post, but to no avail.

This was because, as per a statement by the YSRCP, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy told the INDIA nominee that he has already pledged his support to the NDA candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy also said that he held Justice Sudershan Reddy in great personal respect and that his services to the nation through the judiciary are invaluable.

Also, he praised Justice Sudershan Reddy for making significant contributions to protection of the Constitution and safeguarding the spirit of democracy, and requested that his inability to support the retired judge’s candidature should not be misunderstood.
