Shivamogga district administration felicitated teachers who have excelled in their profession in a programme organised to mark Teachers’ Day, here on Friday.

The Department of School Education had selected 40 teachers for the honour, including seven each from lower primary schools, higher primary schools, and high schools. Besides them, 19 special teachers were chosen for the award.

Elected representatives and senior officials who took part in the programme, honoured the teachers.

S.N. Channabasappa, MLA for Shivamogga; Balkhees Banu, MLC; Sundaresh, Shivamogga Urban Development Authority chairperson; C.S. Shadakshari, president of the Government Employees Association; and officers were present.
