Disgruntled AIADMK senior leader and Gobichettipalayam MLA K.A. Sengottaiyan on Monday (September 9, 2025) denied speculation about his potential meeting with BJP leaders in Delhi and said he was travelling to Haridwar to worship at a Ram temple.
“I am going to Haridwar for my peace of mind. I will be back tomorrow,” he told reporters at Coimbatore International Airport before departing for Delhi.
Reiterating his position, he said his sole concern was party unity. “I have never met [expelled] leaders such as O. Panneerselvam or T.T.V. Dhinakaran. Such claims are unfounded. No one has opposed or commented against my stand. The AIADMK must remain united, and that is my only concern. I have no other motive behind it. As for who from the party has spoken to me, I prefer not to disclose,” he said.
On his removal from party posts, Mr. Sengottaiyan said it was a decision of the general secretary [Edappadi K Palaniswami] and declined to comment further.
