A human chain was held by Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital in Chennai in observance of National Eye Donation Fortnight, celebrated annually from August 25 to September 8.
According to a press release, S. Soundari, Regional Head of Clinical Services at Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital, flagged off the human chain on TTK Road. Students from Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Institute, doctors, hospital staff, and members of the public participated in the event. “Our eye bank is the second largest in India, and over 70% of those who have registered for eye donation are between the ages of 25 and 50. We are optimistic that with continued efforts, more individuals will benefit from the gift of sight, making a lasting impact on society,” the release quoted Dr. Soundari as saying.
