Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge on Tuesday (June 17, 2025) said that he would seek an explanation from the Ministry of External Affairs over the denial of clearance for his scheduled trip to the U.S.
He said he was holding back from making public statements and would enquire with the Union government about the denial of approval for his trip once he returns to Bengaluru.
“I’m holding back on making any public statements for now. Once I’m back in Bengaluru, I will seek a clear explanation from the Government of India regarding this denial,” Mr. Kharge posted on X while responding to a section of media reporting on the issue.
Mr. Kharge was scheduled to attend multiple events in the U.S., including the BIO International Convention in Boston and the Design Automation Conference (DAC) in San Francisco.
