Bomb threat call turns out to be hoax

An anonymous phone call threatening that a bomb had been planted at the District Courts’ Building Complex in Hanamkonda on Friday turned out to be a hoax after a thorough check of the premises of the building by the police along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS).

The BDDS personnel carried out an extensive search of the entire premises of the building eventually declaring the bomb threat call as hoax, sources said.

The Subedari police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the anonymous caller.

Meanwhile, the police reportedly recovered five detonators near the court building later in the day.

Police suspect that the detonators were earlier seized in a case of illegal stocking of the explosive materials at a stone crushing unit in Hanamkonda district. The police have initiated a detailed investigation into the incident to ascertain the facts.
