₹1.27 lakh seized during vehicle check

A flying squad seized unaccounted cash of ₹1.27 lakh during vehicle check near Ambasamudram in Tirunelveli district on Monday.

The flying squad was conducting vehicle check at Kodarankulam intersection, after the election model code of conduct came into force, and intercepted a bike. A search of the riders revealed ₹1,27,100 in cash, which was seized as they could not produce any document accounting for the amount. The money was deposited in the Office of Ambasamduram Tahsildar.
