44 students hospitalised after eating noon meal containing lizard at Kavundampalayam Corporation Middle School

Forty-four students of the Coimbatore Corporation Middle School, Kavundampalayam were hospitalised on Tuesday (March 10, 2026) after consuming their noon meal, in which a dead lizard was found. The students developed symptoms of nausea.

Coimbatore Corporation and local health authorities immediately arranged ambulances to admit the affected children to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. Parents who had gathered near the school were informed about the hospitalisation.
