A total of 994 beneficiaries received house site pattas in Coimbatore, which were distributed by Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin during a government function held to mark the inauguration of a hockey ground in the city on Tuesday.
Issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, the pattas were given to beneficiaries from several localities under the Madukkarai block. These included Kurichi village, Pillaiyarpuram, the Silver Jubilee area, Pothanur Vannar Pettai, Srinivasapuram Kallankuthur, Indira Colony, Eachanari Padasalai Veethi, Ganesapuram, Kurumbapalayam, and Pichanur.
Of the total beneficiaries, 814 people from Kurichi village and Pillaiyarpuram poramboke land, who had been residing there for over five years without pattas, were issued corrected pattas after rectifying measurement differences and boundary discrepancies in earlier records. Pattas were also issued to 73 beneficiaries who had been residing for over 50 years on government poramboke land in the Silver Jubilee area of Kurichi village.
In addition, pattas were distributed to 14 beneficiaries from Pothanur Vannar Pettai government poramboke, nine from Srinivasapuram Kallankuthur poramboke, 29 from Indira Colony Natham poramboke, 18 from Eachanari Padasalai Veethi and Ganesapuram Natham poramboke areas, 12 from Kurumbapalayam in Madukkarai village, and 25 beneficiaries from Pichanur village.
